L-carnitine represents white crystalline or white hygroscopic powder with sweetish taste and characteristic odor. It’s soluble in water, alcohol, alkaline solutions and diluted mineral acids, not soluble in acetone and ethyl acetate.
Active components:
L-carnitine. The names according to the chemical nomenclature are: (R)-3-carboxy-2-hydroxy-N,N,N-trimethyl-l-propanamine hydroxide, inner salt; beta-hydroxy-gamma-N,N,N-trimethyl-aminobutyrate; gamma-amino-beta-hydroxybutyric acid trimethylbetaine; (3-carboxy-2-hydroxypropyl)-trimethyl ammonium hydroxide, inner salt; gamma-trimethyl-beta-hydroxybutyrobetaine; 3-hydroxy-4-(trimethylammonio)-butanoate. Synonyms: Levocarnitine, Vitamin ВТ, carnitine and L-carnitine.
It transports long-chain fatty acids and triglycerides inside mitochondria where they can be subjected to oxidation for the development of energy; reduces esurience and weakness; it’s widely used for the prevention of protein and amino-acid malnutrition in nonprotein diets; improves oxidation of fats by means of effective energy release. It’s also a popular nutritional component promoting normal growth and development, helping at developmental delays; raises an output of endocellular energy in cells of a brain; improves cerebration; reduces symptoms of depression; improves physical condition of healthy people.
